oogle recently confirmed and announced Motorola Moto 360 – The Android Smartwatch at their I/O conference.Google also stated about huge assortment of smart-watches.

Motorola Moto 360 – A futuristic Technology packed under a timeless and unique looking smartwatch overhauled with a true classy feel.

Although there is no official date about the official release date of Motorola Moto 360 would be available to wrap around your wrist, but it may arrive at the fall this year after Android L and Nexus 6 launch. Motorola Moto 360 would be loaded with Google’s custom made Android Wear OS and if sources are to be believed, it will also support wireless charging.

Motorola Moto 360 Price and Availability

I couldn’t resist admitting how classy the look of Motorola Moto 360 has been kept. It has a round traditional looking feel combined with premium leather belt. The price of Motorola Moto 360 is being rumored to be around €249 in Europe and “around a couple hundred pounds” in the UK. For price of Motorola Moto 360 in India it’s still pretty early to say anything.

Motorola Moto 360 Features, Specification, Camera Etc

Motorola Moto 360 is said to have the size of a normal regular watch size and would be compact. Engineers at Motorola have designed a Black watch-face like design to be displayed on the watch when it is not in use. Motorola cleverly used AMOLED display to prevent too much battery drain.

Motorola Moto 360 packs up all the common features expected in a smartwatch viz. ability to receive end and make calls. You can also view and reply messages, can also control your music player. You get notification from your social networking sites, your calendar etc. Just swipe right to left to know more about any notification. Swipe one more time and you get the option to open it on your smartphone. Or you can swipe right to left to terminate a notification. Motorola Moto 360 watch is compatible with all Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 smartphones and tabs. It connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. And even though this does call for quick battery drain of smart-watch, Motorola stated that they had given priority to functioning along with battery. Smartwatch is also water resistant. Now this has to be there. I mean if you are wearing a watch and let’s say if it started to rain, almost all smartphones are now coming as waterproof, wouldn’t it be odd, if you have to hurry unwrapping your watch and securing it.

Motorola Moto 360 Camera

There is nothing to talk about Motorola Moto 360 camera because there is no camera (at least nothing is confirmed as of now). Motorola didn’t feel that the presence of a camera is necessary. However it is present in Galaxy Gear smartwatch so if you are much of a camera lover and can’t ignore one, opt for that.

Motorola Moto 360 packs up the futuristic and intelligent technology in a classic time-piece look. Motorola Moto 360 has a natural classic watch feel when wrapped around your wrist. Even though there are some color options available but the Black on Black is the most attractive one.
Motorola Moto 360 Round Design Inspiration

We asked a bunch of children to draw a watch and they all drew a round watch. And Motorola had its design.” – Motorola.

The best android smart-watch we saw till date. It looks really promising and we have our eyes on that. We will update with all buildups and latest update about Motorola Moto 360 features, availability, price and other information.

Android L brand new notification screen is now much more interactive and intelligent than ever before. It gives users the ability to see, expand, and interact with notifications – including the ability to respond to messages on any other apps also as well as lock screen directly.

For Security, Android L brings a new Personal Unlocking feature. This feature helps the device to locate friendly location with help of wireless devices around it. Thus if you are in such an area or any device is there which your device recognizes, you can unlock your smartphone by simple swipe. But your device cannot figure out the place as a friendly location, you will have to enter either a secured password or pin or pattern depending upon your setting.

Google hasn’t compromised with the performance while enhancing the looks. In fact, Google teamed up with many industry leaders to optimize, refine and increase Android L’s performance. Now Android L uses 64-bit architecture optimized for a wide range of memory and processors. It can also take full advantage of next generation console like graphics for high end kits. Also you get a Kill Switch (yeah, the rumors are true), which allows you to remotely wipe and factory reset your smartphone. Also, Google has promised an enhanced battery life and performance in Android L with an inbuilt Battery Saver mode being talked to provide as much as additional 90 minutes of use.

Android Silver Program: Everything You Need To Know

0
O

kay, so there has been lots of news popping about an upcoming android program – Android Silver. Let’s dive deep into this swirling rumours about Android Silver – Google’s velvet glove containing an iron fist.

What is Android Silver Series or Android Silver Program?

android silver series everything you need to know

Android Silver can be termed somewhat similar to the Nexus program. Every year Google works with one brand for its Nexus Device. Now taking this to much more advanced level now, instead of working with one brand on one smartphone, Google will work with other smartphone brands as well and will help them to ensure a richer and premium android experience from their respective brands.

The brand enrolling themselves in this program will get help from Google in their development and marketing costs as well as the brands will also get special treatment for future android upgrades.

Buzz also says that there will also be Android Silver Kiosks in shops and video support service much like Amazon service for the user of Android Silver.

Unlike iOS, Android devices ranges from a premium built to a low quality smartphone, with an advanced UI, software & hardware to a cluttered UI, a cheap build quality and disappointing performance. Thus, Android Silver Program can be termed as a seal of being premium with premium set of hardware, premium uncluttered android with very less to no non google apps, and a reasonable price.

Why is that good for me?

android silver program everything you need to know

Now you might be wondering what’s in it for me. Well, your query is right. Now since the brand in participating in android silver program, what will be the profit to the smartphone fans. Well one thing is sure that you would now have a much wider range of smartphones with better features and quality to choose from, all that at a reasonable price. We have seen Nexus Series smartphone loaded with amazing features but price tag kept at explainable number.  We can expect the same thing with smartphones from brands in Android Silver Program. Also, you may no longer see the bloatware and those unwanted apps, useless customization taking up space RAM and all. A big thanks to Android Silver Program for that.

We can say this because the firms who will enroll themselves in the Android Silver Program will have to keep the promise, not to mess with the stock android firmware. Also even if the firms have to install non Google apps, they will have to do that in a limit with the possibility to be removed by the user. You also now do not have to worry about a new android version upgrade and when will your brand specifically releasing it for you. All these updates for the participating firms will be controlled and released directly from Google.

What’s in it for the manufacturers?

A pile of Money is what the manufacturers will be getting to ensure that they can have that R&D and marketing budget to keep their smartphone up and running among top brands. Small firms will be specially benefited from this who cannot withstand In front of brands like Samsung.

However, the loss is that they might have to think way harder to make their device unique enough to attract buyers. Buzz is that Google is specifying hardware and software (as it does with nexus devices), so there won’t be much difference in smartphones.

Who is taking part?

As of now, we know that LG and Motorola will be most certainly a part of Android Silver program and we do expect others to fall in sooner or later.

One interesting thing to find out is whether Samsung would be taking part in this or not. Since their smartphone are loaded with tons of bloatware and their own (unwanted) apps which either God knows or Samsung knows why it is there, signing up with Silver program may tie their hands in terms of that. Also, in case of an agreement they will have to work harder to make smartphones unique from others and since the price is also a factor, they might lose the market share they are holding at the moment.

@evleaks claims that LG will be the first out of the gate with an Android Silver device, which will feature a Qualcomm MSM8994 processor (reportedly the 64-bit Snapdragon 810). It’s set to appear on the Sprint network in the US, though whether it’s an exclusive has yet to be revealed.

UPDATE: LG is set to make the first Android Silver handset, expected in 2015

When is it going to happen?

We are still not aware when this program will be working in 100% efficiency but is the sources are to be believed then it would be by the beginning of year 2015.

Why is Google doing this?

The real story about the Android Silver may be not be what is being portrayed. Google gives away Android because it wants users’ data. Now since Samsung is the leader in manufacturing Android Smartphone, if by any chance Samsung drops Android, Google will be at a very big loss. Samsung’s plans to eventually drop Android are well documented, and if it does so, a major source of data gathering will be no more there for Google. Thus by helping other brands with this program, Google are giving them a head start with a stronger base to compete with Google. Manufactures get money, premium support from google, and users get better smartphone at lesser price. Thus by this program, Google may be able to lessen the damage Samsung could do. Now being said that and also seeing the possibility that Samsung may lose market share, Samsung may reconsider their plans about dropping Android.

Google Will Continue Nexus Series : Expect New nexus Series Lineup By The End Of Year 2014

here were a lot of buzz about Google ditching their beloved Nexus Series in Favour of Android Silver Program. This did came as a bad news to Nexus Lovers. Even though they would be getting smartphone with same premium quality as Nexus, but still i would also speak teh words of Nexus lovers – “Nexus is something else and none can match it.”

Google To Continue Nexus Series

Nexus 6 smartphone coming soon

However, we now can assure you that you will soon be seeing a new Nexus Smartphone, to be precise Nexus 6 and most probably some Tablets lined up by the fall of year 2014. Recently, Google said the Nexus line isn’t going anywhere. Now this is pretty much clear from the statement, nexus 6 is coming soon. Also there has been a lot of buzz and rumours about Nexus 6 stating its most probable hardware specs and features. One thing which will be in Nexus 6 for sure is Android L – The latest and a major update of Android Platform ever since the release of first version of Android (specially in terms of UI redesign). With Andorid L, Google is bringing material design to its OS. Be ready to see a whole new UI, perfected and crafted to its smallest deatils. If you have a Nexus 5 smartphone, then you can download developer preview of Android L.

“People just get excited by concepts and forget why we do things, We are still invested in Nexus. People have been commenting about Nexus because there is something else and they think that means the end of Nexus. That is the totally wrong conclusion to make,” – Burke (Google’s Head of Android Engineering) said.

Burke also added why Nexus series is important for the development or Android Platform.

“When we are working, there are sort of two outputs, We’re building a Nexus device and we’re building the open source code. There is no way you can build the open source code without the phone or tablet or whatever you are building. You have to live and breathe the code you are developing.” –  Burke revealed.

We have also seen in every event where Google showcased Android, that they use Nexus series devices. Without that and being dependent on some other manufactures device, they might not give that real and exact taste of Android’s growing power as they can portray with a Nexus smartphone whose hardware and software standards are controlled by google.

“You can’t build a platform in the abstract, you have to build a device (or devices), So, I don’t think it can or will ever go away. And then, I think Nexus is also interesting in that it is a way of us explaining how we think Android should run. It is a statement, almost a statement of purity in some respects. I don’t see why we would ever turn away from that, it wouldn’t make sense.” – Burke also added.

Now this was something which would be a great piece of info to Nexus Lovers.

Nexus 9 Tablet

Nexus 9 Tablet coming soon

If the recent news and trusted sources are to be considered, we would be seeing a Nexus 9 Tablet as well alongside Nexus 6 smartphone and much awaited Android L. However one thing which is still to be known is, who will be developing the upcoming Nexus 6. A recent report suggests that LG is not building Nexus smartphone this time.

LG was not aware of the status of the Nexus program and the Android Silver program. Google has not partnered with LG for new Nexus devices. – Ken Hong, LG’s global communications director.

Also, there have been reports that HTC will work on the handset. After LG’s comment, it is now much more certain that HTC is taking the charge of Google Nexus 6. So far, upcoming Nexus 6 is rumoured to have these high end specification which includes a 64-bit Snapdragon 800-series chipset clocked at 3 GHz, a 5.2-inch full-HD curved(i don’t think it will be true) LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass, a 3 GB RAM, a13 MP rear &  5 MP front-facing camera and several connectivity options.
